For any of y’all with kids or grandkids, here is an easy way to make Easter Eggs.
(Without making a mess and stink of your kitchen)
1) Set Sous Vide to 165.
2) Fill sandwich ziploc with a cup of water, 2 tsp of white vinegar, and 30 food coloring drops of whatever color you are trying to make. (Up to 4 eggs per bag)
3) Get all the air out
4) Place in bath for 1 hour. Put bags in cool water and toss in fridge 15-30 minutes.
5) Remove from bags and dry. You can use a paint brush to flick a second pattern with the leftover coloring.

Neat trick! Is it sad that, after all the sous vide posts I've read on this forum, this is the first one to really make me think I ought to get a sous vide rig? I have four kids so coloring Easter Eggs is kindof a PITA and often not worth the cleanup effort.XL BGE, CGS AR & spider, 36" SS Blackstone, SMOBOT - Flower Mound, TX

Well, I married me a wife, she's been trouble all my life,
Run me out in the cold rain and snow -
@jdkeithbge I was on the fence about it but I got one on Black Friday and made it my New Years goal to give it the ol college try.
At first I didn’t like it (more science than art) but after seeing results on specific things like red meat and veggies I was impressed. Also with our crazy life it has been a solid tool to add to the tool belt.
On Sunday we can plan meals, go to the store, divide the food up, season, vacuum seal and freeze, and then I just lay it out with instructions and food is ready for me to finish on the Egg when I get home.
(My wife is a lot of amazing things but cook she is not. We found ourselves eating at 8:30-9pm as we passed off kid bedtime duties. This fixed a lot of that)
But I agree, my mom brought those over this morning and my first reaction was “you a$$!”
Apparently she didn’t want to stain her new kitchen remodel."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."
