I would begin by validating it is not on the recall list.

Use the SEARCH feature on this forum and you'll find plenty! I love hard boiled eggs and this makes the best! Also, the IP makes a killer risotto without all the stirring and watching. And soups...and one pot dinners...like tikka marsala. Look around and you'll find a TON of things you can do.

Do you cook dried beans? No overnight soaking, pinto beans in 30 minutes under pressure (plus pressurizing and natural release time).
Also, stock.

Trash it.
It was the breadmaker of the 2017 holiday shopping season.
Okay, okay... I'm just bitter because I got so sick of watching commercials and reading FB posts and ads about that thing for months on end. Like any appliance, I'm sure it adds some convenience and if you have the room to store it, have at it.
Sincerely,
hater.

I got one for Christmas as well. So far, I've had my best luck with dried beans, soups, potatoes, and hard 'boiled' eggs. Ironically, I haven't been happy at all with my rice results.

Just make sure you get to know it (kinda like you did w/ your BGE) - you'll need to make sure you have enough liquid to create the pressure, etc...

Check out YouTubeThis is how I do them...
1 lb pinto beans (rinsed, unsoaked)
2 tsp onion pwdr
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp chili pwdr
½ tsp pepper
1 Tbls bacon grease
1 small ham hock (smoked on egg) if you have one
cover with 2” water
30 min (stovetop PC), natural release (or 35 min/natural in Instant Pot)
PERFECT! Tender, but not mushy. Added 2 pinches salt after cook.

Soup and spaghetti are REALLY hot when you are done cooking.
It isn't instant, unless you consider changing from rice maker to any of 7 other functions with a switch instant.
Play with it and enjoy the trip, it's just another tool in the arsenal.

Every time I make this, I'm amazed how good it is. I prefer using boneless chicken breasts and cooking for 12 minutes. Amazing, and could not be easier.
