For me, the loss of backlighting and water resistance is a pretty big trade off. Price is quite a bit more than the MK4 too. Still, looks like a neat product.

Going to be a no for me.

Classic has worked great for years and I just picked up an MK4 because I wanted the backlight. Couple that with the fact that I often leave them outside in the rain, probably not the best idea.

I'd buy one just for fun, but it looks like it only comes in white.  White isn't fast enough.

That’s a big negative. You can buy their IR gun and 3 pops for roughly the same money.

Is the backlighting bright on the new ones? The backlight is very dim and intermittently works on mine that is a few years old.

Cool Idea.  Disappointed in the backlighting and lack of water resistance.  I'd like to own one, but I'll likely wait until the next gen

I got my MK4 only a few months ago and find the lighting to be more than adequate.
