Chicken Wings (drum sticks)

Cooked up these drum sticks tonight at 400 degrees direct on a LBGE.  Rotated them every 7 minutes for about 40 minutes.  I typically like a little crust on mine to give them some crunch and texture.

Used 2 spices
Mr Pink: (Kicking Bird)
Mr. Pink (Sweet and smokey)

Put on some bbq sauce the last 10 minutes on 2 of them.

Sauce:
The Corner Butcher: (Sweet and smokey)

I've been working on my wing game the last couple months.  I've been really pleased with the organic free range chicken I have picked up.

Enjoy! Gotta give some love to the “flats”. Raised direct is a good way to go imo. Wings and the egg are like peas and carrots.

They look great!  (I hope there were a lot more of them that weren't in the picture, though...

I've only done them indirect because I'm lazy and don't want to have to flip them all, but I think I'd probably like them better direct.  Again, yours look great!

Nothing wrong with the lazy way. I’m very familiar with that approach as well. Lol.

There were more, just wanted to throw some on the plate and get eating.  I used to go indirect, but have been on a raised direct kick the last couple months.
