savory french toast

saw mention of it here last week, dont think i could ever go back =) no pics

brioche bread
1 egg
1/4 tsp black pepper
salt
tsp hot fermented pepper sauce
fry in butter

what else would you want

saute some cherry tomato halves with italian spices


odd thing, see inspiration here, see brioche bread for the first time in the store....fate?

    Glad you dig it. My mom used to add some milk to the egg to make it softer.

    i did milk one day, none the other. the brioche was soft and fresh, it really didnt need the milk.  thanks for posting that the other day, its a game changer.

    added some finely chopped sage to some, if you google search theres recipes with grated crusty parmasian or asiago, lots of takeoffs. the one i found had the cherry tomatoes sauteed in a tblsp oil with some fresh basil

    Yes, its a great way to use bread. I can't get brioche very often, mostly I use breads on the edge of stale, so milk added works well. I likewise use fresh grated cheese, and mix the butter for frying w. some herbs &/or different alliums. Haven't tried any hot peppers, but seems like another good addition.
