I actually have the tracking number which is also baffling. Says "USPS awaiting item".

I've had a similar situation, but turns out I just took drunk and ordered a bunch of shît.Hungry Joe said:I actually have the tracking number which is also baffling. Says "USPS awaiting item". -
Not sure what the primary shipping carrier was but many times they will turn the product over to your local post-office "for the last mile". Just be careful...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. This post hits too close to home for me. I sold an item on one of my sites for approximately $2,200.00. It was going to California. I noticed the billing and shipping were two different locations, but that is fairly common for us.
I called the number on the order just to feel them out, and the guy was very nice and told me he was buying this item as a gift and was excited about it. My gut told me something was a little off, but it wasn't enough of a feeling for me that I did anything about it. We were going to ship on Monday, and today I discovered the "customer" had initiated a charge back because they didn't recognize the charge on their statement.
Long story short I did some detective work and tracked the real person down whose name was used to place the order. They of course knew nothing other than they had a charge on their card they didn't recognize.
I refunded them, but I am out the cc fees of about $100 or so. Lesson learned! I am just thankful I hadn't shipped the item.
I am in the process of switching to a new cc processor that offers fraud protection. I will go with my gut next time as well.

A good reason to never have a debit card. My CC company has detected several hacks over the years and always protected me. They contact me, shut down the cards immediately, and issue new ones. The only time it was a problem was when I was traveling on business. They called to tell me my card was cancelled a day before I had to pay a $1,200 hotel bill. I had to call them when I was checking out so they could turn it on long enough to let the hotel charges go through. I got some strange looks from the clerk. Since then I carry two cards. I use one for personal stuff and one for business. Same CC company, but two different card numbers, two different security codes, and two different PINs. The chances of both getting hacked at the same time is beyond remote.Michiana, South of the border.
