Smokeware and Tel Tru fit BGE without modification.  Ron's point however is true.

The probe I have is smaller so I would have to find something to fill the hole around it, but that would not be an issue.

I calibrated all three of mine on Thanksgiving......the two Smokeware ones were within 10 degrees, the new Tel-Tru on the BGE was off by 50.  Not too worried about it.  They have the calibration lug on the bag so that you can calibrate them--because they sit outside, endure high temp swings, and need to be calibrated.

I don't think any one of them is better than the other.  I just know the SW ones are half the cost and have four different color options.  They're all good quality, but depending on your usage, climate, and luck just determines how often you need to calibrate.  When I was a helicopter mechanic, it didn't matter if you have cheap Craftsman or expensive Snap-on torque wrenches, they all went in for calibration.  It was surprising how much some of the expensive ones were off......but in the end, they're all metal and metal changes.

***And if you have a SW one that's over 3-4 months old, they're not the same......the new ones are made in the U.S. by a different company.***
