what gloves do you find are the best for taking hot meat off egg or shredding pulled pork? Trying to find out whats best... claws or gloves

I use claws. They are much more efficient for doing pulled pork.

I usually just use a couple of dinner forks, for removal and for pulling. Sometimes I remove with claws, but I don't like them for pulling.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I use claws and cotton lined silicone gloves

For versatility and flexibility I favor both. Claws for the pulled beef or pork cooks and fire-retardant gloves for the brisket, turkey, pork loin, chix or other good sized protein. You can easily grab and move pork tenderloin and other light-weight proteins with tongs.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Bear claws are a great accessory. Do yourself a favor and get these nitrile gloves and liners. They are heat resistant enough to handle hot meats while maintaining maximum dexterity. GAME CHANGER!

Atlas 460s.
Also excellent for setting out and picking up decoys in cold weather or for crab fishing on the Bering Sea. -
Cotton glove inserts from Harbor Freight and 9 mil nitrile gloves over them - a tip from Myron.

Forgot about this. Just don't go too long or too fast, it'll turn to mush.

Use my firefighter gloves to pull the meat off. Clean them in the wash. I use bear claws for my shredding

I think it was someone here who recommended these, and I've been very pleased with them:
Artisan Griller Insulated waterproof / oil & heat resistant BBQ, Smoker, Grill, and Cooking Gloves.
I also use the BGE claws, which are great for pulling pork.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning. -
Never got used to the claws, mine just sit in the drawer. I pull by hand, but not right off the pit, usually let pork sit for a couple of hours.
-
Gave my claws away. I like 2 dinner forks as mentioned above.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

I use a pair of winter golf gloves, with xl nitrile gloves over them. i use the same pair of winter gloves to handle my grates and charcoal (to keep the black off my hands), works well.

Same topic, but a right turn, so call it OFF TOPIC if you wish! This is just a PSA from here on!
I use a lot of disposable gloves for various reasons. My go to ones for food handling are 500 per box ones from SAMS. Then for painting etc I use the 200 count medical use blue latex also from SAMS and they seldom ever break. Recently I bought boxes of 5 mil and 9 mil from Harbor Frieght. Haven't used the 5's yet, but today was my first with those 9's and I was really impressed! I was using some really harsh chemicals cleaning and using coarse scrubbing materials for nearly an hour! They never tore and the great thought of not having to clean them like when I used to use "expensive" RubberMaid kitchen gloves for similiar tough tasks. Nice to stay safe and then just pitch them at a fraction of the cost. BTW these often are on sale at HF for $10. If you have similiar needs then buy a box and I bet you'll thank me!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time. -
I have a a couple pair of the below that I like to wear. At less than $10, they aren't bad. I've given them as gifts too before.

Sometimes though, if you're quick enough, the prep gloves I buy are enough. You'll want to know where you're going with your meat, etc. They are 6.3 mils. A little thicker than some other prep gloves.
