Been playing with the deep fryer last couple of days.
I need some recipes besides fried fish and french fries.
I especially need the recipe for the hushpuppies that were mostly cheese that @travisstrick made a brisket camp

BBQ Egg rolls. Let your imagination be the limit. Smoked and fried wings. No recipes, but that’s what the inter web is really good at. Whatever you do I’m sure it will be awesome.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
THIS is a most excellent dip for onion rings and fried mushrooms.
Gittin' there... -
Great thread Grim. We could use more deep fry threads.
I'll second the fried pickles, and add eggplant to the mix.

Pulled pork egg rolls. Unbelievable.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

The best is frying either a "Rum or Bourbon Shots".
Your first "cube" an dense Angel Food Cake in 1" cubes.
Then soak the cubes in the Bourbon or Rum.
Toss in the Fryer till golden Brown!!
The Bourbon Shots are then drizzled with a Bourbon, Maple and Chocolate Sauce.
The Rum Shots would be drizzled with a Rum and Caramel Sauce.
Then they are dusted with a bit of Powdered Sugar to finish.
Enjoy!!
This is the best item I have ever cooked in my Deep Fryer!!

Churros, samosas, and hand pies come to mind . At Thanksgiving my cousin put fig preserves in pie dough, hand pies sized, fried them and sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar. They were gone within 10 minutes.

I am surprised that the "anus" man has not showed up to this party.

I was messing with the fryer today, and daughter expressed an interest, so we ended up having a "everything we had on hand deep fried lunch".
Sausage, eggplant, pickles, tater tots etc. No pics, it didn't happen, but the oil sweats are real. Normally I make my own dipping sauces, but today as one of them we tried hidden ranch avocado. I would recommend it for an all round store bought sauce.

The hush puppy is a great fried item. Not sure I have ever had cheese in them. I like mine however with a lot of onion. Fried Onion rings, okra, squash and of course fresh cut fries are some of my favorites.
Porrk skins, mushrooms and spring rolls....and on the entire side, fried shrimp and. southern fried chicken.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax
