i paid a little less for it over a year ago, but i would be happy with that price. customer service has been top notch. my only complaint is that the 17 griddle top is thinner than the others unless they upgraded, mine warped so now i have two, one flat one for breakfasts and one for heavy searing (covered under warranty). also broke a regulator, my fault, replacement was a couple days, ten bucks, free shipping. buy the connector hose for the bigger propane, i use the green bottles and the 20 pounder when home.

I got mine at Ace for the same price about a year ago. Planned to use it for camping, but it’s in regular rotation here at the house.  I bought an adaptor hose to hook it up to the 20lb tanks of propane.  It goes through the little green tanks quick.

I love it, but yes, it did warp.  During one cook, it literally started to taco.  I was able to push it down and make it somewhat flat again.  It doesn’t impact much of anything, aside from pooling oil a bit.  No biggie.

If you plan to cook for any more than 2 people at a time, you’ll have to cook in shifts.  17” isn’t a lot of space.  If I’m doing chicken Phillies, I do the peppers and onions first, then the meat, then build sandwiches with cheese and a steamer dome.  It’s somewhat quick, but if you want to sling spatulas like a true diner cook, spring for the bigger one.

Still love the Blackstone in general.  But at some point I’ll upgrade to the bigger one

  • Thanks for the info guys! I ended up passing on the Blackstone, I was there for a camping grill, so went with a Weber Jumbo Joe instead for $49. I think y’all are right, when I get a BS, it needs to be a full size model.

The 22" is also a great size if it pops back on the market.
    Thank you,
