Music just started last Friday on the office "Muzak" channel we have. Came in today and every speaker had the volume turned to 0. I guess the war on Christmas has begun?

I usually start playing Xmas tunes at work early. Got nasty looks when I started in July one year, so I try to hold off until October now.

Don't judge. it puts me in my happy place.

The longest, continuously running Santa parade in the USA is here Peoria, Illinois and will occur as always the morning after Thanksgiving.

Back in my banking career days that meant NO BODY - not even the bank president could have that day off as it was the busiest banking day of the year! Reason??? Christmas Club Savings could be withdrawn on that day!

We used to make a 400 mile trip to my wife's grandparents home for Thanksgiving leaving after work on Wednesday arriving there at midnight. Then not long after Thanksgiving Dinner we would beat feet again to get back home so I could get to work Friday. Even as a young man my butt would be dragging all day Friday!

first time our church entered a float in the parade. It's not Macy's quality but we enjoyed building it.

Celebrating the holiday of "What We Want To Get" before we can finish the holiday for "What We're Thankful To Have", 'murica!!

My family decided to quit exchanging gifts almost ten years ago (obviously you wouldn't do this with kids in the picture).  It was unbelievable how much holiday stress just... evaporated!  We spent subsequent Xmases visiting, cooking and eating, watching TV, touring the Xmas lights, and just thinking about what the holiday was really about; just GREAT!  And Black Friday, WOOO!!  Grabbing the first shopping cart, and hitting the wide, echo-ey aisles alone, grabbing the hugely-discounted hams, turkeys, cheeses etc in the grocery store, while all the lemmings were killing each other in the malls, WOOOT!!
    Happy Holidays, Eggers!
