Spring Hinges

Sooooo... the dome of my LG went tumbling down because my spring hinge was loose. My fault, of course. Luckily I had the nest up against a large bush, so there was no damage other than a slight stroke. Close to 15 yrs old, I'm figuring its time for a new spring hinge.
I picked up a Med Egg from a friend and that hinge is rusted out - not even a third of the lower band is left. So now I need two spring hinges, a Medium and a Large.
Stopped by the mothership and had another mini stroke upon hearing the replacement cost. I put it off due to a lack of funds. So I sold some things and did stuff I'm not proud of... now I'm ready to bite the bullet.
I've got an ACE Hardware right up the street, should I just go through them? (I spoke with Lou at the BGE booth at the pool, spa & patio Expo last week and he suggested just that)
Are there any other avenues for me to take? Mostly I'm looking to save money, even if its just taxes.
Any advice fellow Eggers?

I would say if it's down to saving sales tax, I would give the business to my local dealer. Hands down the right thing to do. But I would also shop around my local dealers and buy from the one who provides the best service.
I'm almost to that point with one of my Small BGEs. Band is really rusting bad.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas
