Not a Black Stone

It was a kidney stone and hurt like a B!&@#.   4+ hours in ER and Morphine didn't help so big brother Dilaudid to the rescue.   Hasn't passed yet, but it's almost to the bladder.   Woke up at 5:00 AM and as stone traveled the pain increased to point of cold sweats and vomiting...no fun.   Never had em during my beer drinking days...hmmm????

  • They are a pain.  I went to the ER for the first one because I did not know what to expect. Now I just take my Dilaudid and wait it out at home to pass... hope you get relief soon

Seriously, down a six pack. one after the other and pee as much as possible. Let it come out. Works for me, and I am NOT a beer drinker.

Just another reason to keep with my beer pounding routine.  That said, I have only heard of the pain-You will clear this hurdle.
Too bad it likely lasts longer than the thumbs in the engine room vice and grease gun introduction .  "One more turn..."  ;)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I've had a BUNCH of kidney stones -- a few have passed with no pain at all, but some of them were just awful!  I'm sorry you are suffering!!!

Dude, hope the stone has passed by now!!  Been there hated it all 4 times I've had it.  Since I started brewing and consuming beer, I've not had further incidents (knock on wood).  Be strong and pee a bunch!!!

Thank all of you for your well wishes...woke up feeling great this morning even though it hasn't passed.  The worst part is the journey from the kidney to the bladder...at least that's been my experience. Told SWMBO once it passes I was going to have it gold plated and add to a necklace or earring and it would be something unique I truly made for her...didn't seem impressed.  I love the fact that I was able to get enough of a consensus to confirm I need to increase my beer intake for health reasons  =)   CHEERS!!!!

Flomax and pain pills are your friend. Stones are awful. Hope you pass it in next couple days.

Yep...left with FloMax & Norco in hand.  It should have made it to Bladder by now.  SWMBO asked if there was anything she could do & I was on Dilaudid so I started singing The Ramones “I Wanna Be Sedated” but replaced Sedated with Felated...she hits pretty hard for a little woman.
