@stlcharcoal Sorry, need to update my info. We've moved back to Columbus, Ohio. The only ACE carrying it is 45 minutes away.
I'm sorry, feel bad for you. I spent 22 hours in Ohio a couple weeks ago. And that was 22 hours too long. Granted, that was Cincinnati, not Columbus.

It hasn't shipped yet.  Leaves on Tuesday, then once it rolls into their warehouse it will be available for ordering.

You are going to just be using the same "Cali label"  bag now for all Rockwood right?
Yeah, too risky not to do that.  So everyone else in the US now has fair warning on a THIRD label, that carbon monoxide can 'eff them up.
Can I get non-Cali compliant lump? All the Cali stuff causes cancer.
    Piling on. =)

Nothing we can do with their gift card but you should call them.  Just because you're not seeing anything on the website doesn't mean it's all gone.  If nothing else might be able to get some jeep parts.  Call them.....really good people there.

Will do.  I am close enough (2 hours-ish) that I can take a trip there even.  IF they have something I am interested in.  Customer service had always been great in the past, as long as they did not cut them as well....

Look at their website, you can see switchover to the new approach.  They're no longer a retail outlet, they're a pellet smoker brand with direct sales.

Interesting. Never a good idea to put all of your pellets into one basket...

They stopped every non-pellet grill product.  It is like a whole new company with same domain name.

Looking forward to ordering on line for So Cal!  No Ace near me.

You can try this one....not called Ace, but they source from their warehouse:

    http://www.acehardware.com/mystore/index.jsp?store=08529

I know the place, didn't realize they had a relationship with ACE.  Thanks for the tip!

Don’t pellets really just smolder though, not really fire?

@Legume- the oxygen starved fire is how the BGE runs as well especially to get the long duration run times.  No pellet experience so I can't directly compare.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.
  • @Legume From Wikipedia:

The grills are electric and controlled by a simple three-position switch. Like the pelletstove, a rotating auger feeds pellets from the hopper to the fire pot, where they are lit by an igniter rod. A fan then stokes the fire and distributed heat and smoke throughout the grill.

I think your right for something like the Amazin Smoker.  The pellets just smolder and give off good smoke with little heat.  The pellet grills use a fan to then stoke the fire.

My brother and nephew have pellet grills and really like them.  I have never used one myself.

They didn’t reply to my email today so I just called them, the message says I have reached them after hours and that they are open 9am-9pm....  it is just after 6pm.

Like most here, I've bought my share from Firecraft.  They messed up once pretty bad, and that's where you find out the measure of a company.  They handled it, and made it right.  They seem like a good company.

That said,  a complete change in product is like starting out all over again.  I trust they had a good reason for this shift, and wish them all the best.

Give them a try tomorrow during the day.  If that doesn't work, I'll get you in touch with who you need to talk to.
