OT - First Cook on the Camp Chef Woodwind Pellet Grill

We've been looking at pellet grills for awhile now and when Camp Chef released their new Woodwind grill, we pulled the trigger on one. It's a pellet grill combined with a propane Sear grill. Best of both worlds and will be a great companion for the egg. First cook was meatloaf. Wanted a direct comparison to a recent egg cook we did. Hubby declared it the best meatloaf he had ever eaten. Cooked on the high smoke setting for 30 minutes, then switched it to 350 degrees for the rest of the cook.

ML looks great! The inside of that grill looks huge, like you can cook a couple turkeys at once...

Awesome looking cook, but man those are some small rations? I could devour that tasty piece of meatloaf on the plate with one bite. The sides would be gone it two!

I believe it will hold two turkeys @NC_Egghead. We prefer our turkeys to be around nine pounds. The grill area is 19.5" X 22". Thanks, @Eoin it won't look new for long. Thanks @CanDid. That was my plate and I wasn't very hungry. Hubby's had a lot more on his, but the cut shot on mine was better. Thanks, @DoubleEgger.

Congrats. I'll be interested in your opinion as time goes by.

Thanks, @SciAggie. We're planning a salmon cook on Saturday. I love salmon, but have not been a big fan of grilled salmon, so we'll see how it turns out.

Well, this is encouraging! How was assembly? What do you think of the build quality?

Thanks, @CtTOPGUN. It comes almost pre-assembled. We had to install the legs,  lid handles, propane tank hanger, and sear grill. Not a big deal, however, the main body is pretty heavy and you lay it on its back to install the legs. It was a two person job for us. Once you install the propane tank, it tips the scales at around 200 lbs., so it is no lightweight. It arrived around 2:00 and it was ready to move to the deck in a couple of hours. We didn't move it until the next day since we had thunderstorms move in unexpectedly. We almost left it in the garage since we're scheduled to have the deck redone, but we keep getting our date pushed back. Luckily it has great wheels and is a breeze to move around. We have a few other Camp Chef products that are good quality and this one did not disappoint.

Great cook and thanks for the initial review.  Always a great day when a new rig is added to the arsenal.

Thanks @lousubcap. I've been looking at pellet grills for a couple of years now and this one tipped the scale. In addition to that, their commercial is hilarious. If nothing else, I have to give kudos to their marketing team. Just kidding, but you guys know how I love my toys. This will work perfectly with the egg.

I really like the Camp Chef and am down to that one and the Rec Tec. I agree with you though about the Camp Chef commercials, very clever.
