Got my Smobot installed earlier this evening and decided to do an overnight brisket cook. Not sure if others have had this issue but my stock damper screw was not long enough to thread with the Smobot spacer. Eric @reinhart36 was quick to respond to a Sat evening email but I wound up getting a M6-1x22mm screw to do the trick. Stock was about 14mm.
Will keep you all posted but so far Smobot is following its prime directive quite well! You can see where I opened the lid and placed a just thawed brisket on.

I have a beta version. My spacer looks much shorter than yours. I wonder if Eric updated that, or you got an out of spec spacer.

They sell two models for different kamados. Could be they just mixed up the wrong spacer with the one sent to you. Assuming the spacers and screws are ven that different among the various brands of kamados.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

Pulled it at 9:30am this morning, temp was 202F, then FTC till 11:45am. It was a little more done around the edges than I'd have liked but overall it turned out good.
