Enough of reading and wishing.....I booked a class for this October to learn from a master.  =)

While I have no thoughts of competition cooking, I'm sure I can collect a few pearls of wisdom and have a good time doing it........and eat well, too.  :)

I'm pumped!

My brother and I kicked this around.
We would love to have a couple drinks with the man at his house.  Seems like a cool guy, who knows his stuff.

Have fun and report back.  Would love to see a post about the trip.

@lousubcap, thanks for the link. I posted on it and that was the motivation to get off of my butt and get my groveling A game in motion with my wife. She OK'ed it, and I booked it.   :)

I'm looking forward to October now.  =)

I will be awaiting your assessment.  If the flowing beer and a learning experience are anywhere close to the target I may have to make the move in 2018.  Above all, have fun as I'm sure you will.

@lousubcap, fun is what I'm looking for. I will admit that I admire Myron Mixon, TV bravado and all......the man has made his bones and certainly knows his game.

let me know if he is still using a "cheap" packer to lay under the ribs of his whole hog to slow down the cooking...

I chuckled to myself when he did this...

also, if he is stilling selling his rubs...pick up of the honey money cluck rub...stuff is off the chain for everything
    Have:
XLBGE / Stumps Baby XL / Couple of Stokers (Gen 1 and Gen 3) / Blackstone 36 / Maxey 3x5 water pan hog cooker
    Had:

    Fat Willies BBQ

A packer as an indirect barrier, good stuff.
