Kinda funny reading this, I just got my MM past Christmas and my wife was gonna surprise me with it but just before delivery she told me to meet her at the local as she needs help making the decision the MM and table or the Large and I thought well there is only the two of us mostly so the MM looks just the thing well after 6 months I so wish I had gone for the large or med. as I never seems to have enough room.......MMx, my not so large BGE

You just need to add a large and you got it made.

I second this....a Large and MM are a great combo.Biggreenpharmacist said:You just need to add a large and you got it made.
I probably will get my folks a Medium to cook on. -
My 1st was a medium. Had 4 kids in the house at the time, and it wasn't big enough. Bought another medium, giving me more flexibility, and as much space as a small and a large combo.
With the kids out on their own, the only time both are fired up is holidays. A medium is a little cramped for some stuff, but I have done a whole goose, and a whole hog head.

I have a large and a mini. Now that my wife and I are empty nesters, I find myself using the mini for a lot of our meals for two. Granted, you aren't going to do a full meal on it easily, but if I am just cooking the meat, with my wife preparing side dishes, I find that the mini is fantastic - efficient and quick to get up to temp. While I totally get the "go larger" mindset, and see the logic, I wouldn't be too quick to discount the idea of a small for an older couple who will mainly be cooking for two. Just my two cents!Seriously, no one is recommending the small?? The small is the egg I use the most! It has plenty of space and I cook for 3-4 people on it regularly. Your parents may not need or want the extra space of the larger egg.
LBGE, MM, & Mini. Weber Smokey Joe for a knockabout.

I get that, too, but it sure does limit you. On those rare occasions you cook for 4 or more you are done.

The question was small or medium. Answer is medium.

It's like you have a multiple choice question:
Q: What sized BGE should I buy for my parents?

2) Medium
A: Large
Grade: F

It's a week later and I still vote for the small.
Ha Ha, I have a mini and LOVE my mini, but the small gets it done. Maybe I am a magician! @TheophanHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini
