OT - Dining Options in the Outer Banks, NC

Hey Everyone,
Since everyone helped me brainstorm ideas on where to take my parents on a vacation in August, see that thread here:

http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/comment/2181669#Comment_2181669

I thought I'd see if folks can give me some reccomendations on where to take my parents for dinner while we are in teh outer banks.  We will be staying at the Sanderling Resort on Duck Island during the 3rd week in August, so we will probably be eating breakfast and lunch there.  I'd like to get a list of places that I should definitely take them for dinner.  We are cool with anything from casual to fine dining, as long as the food is good.  Anyone care to give me some tips for the go to places?

Thanks,

MP

    Hey man,

OBX is a cool place.  We typically go at least once a year.

We really enjoy the food at High Cotton.  Also, down on the southern beaches there is a wider variety of joints to choose from.  We like Hurricane Moes in particular.

on your way down, there is a spot called The Weeping Radish that's pretty good.  They make all of their beer, sausage and other charcuterie in house.

Good of luck and enjoy the vacay

We love the Outer Banks. A must for us is Mama Kwans in Kill Devil Hills. Everything is good but I suggest the fish tacos.

We have a place in Duck just a few streets down from the sanderling, we love paper canoe which is least than a 1/4 mile for you and it is on the the sound so try and get a reservation during the sunset. Roadside is awesome in town as well as costal cravings which is more casual and a good lunch place as well. If you just want to spend more money there is always blue point and Aqua, good but expensive. Probably one off our all out favorites is costal provisions which is in southern shores shopping center right at the turn north in southern shores. We are leaving in the morning for a week there so we will miss you guys. It's a great place! Enjoy!

Take an extra cooler of groceries if you're visiting Rodanthe! A food desert, it is...
