Vertical stainless Turkey roaster - Sit it on the grid, or in a drip tray right on the platesetter?

Hi gang,
i just put up my first turkey breast on the Egg, and used a v-rack. I have the BGE stainless steel vertical rack, but in looking at it, if I were to sit it on the grid, with the bird upright, I don't think I'd get the lid closed. How are these meant to be used? I have a circular drip plan that I sit on top of the plate setter. Should I forgo the grid and just sit it on there?
What works best for you?
Thanks!

Sitting directly on the plate setter will work if
neccessary. but use some spare nuts to provide an air gap from the bottom of your drip pan and the platesetter. It will keep your drippings from scortching.XL & MM BGE, 36" Blackstone - Newport News, VA -

Air gapped drip pan on plate setter and vertical roaster in drip pan. I've done it this way many of time.
You not going to have any difference in the using the Vrack vs the roaster. For bigger birds I prefer the Vrack.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.
