Just a heads up, Costco is selling Tri-tip whole roasts, $6 a pound in roughly 3 pound packages.

One in the fridge right now - scheduled for sacrifice by fire Tuesday night dinner... to be continued.

Indianapolis, IN

BBQ is a celebration of culture in America. It is the closest thing we have to the wines and cheeses of Europe.

Not so here in Cumming, GA.  Used to, don't anymore.  Stock up while it lasts.

Costco stopped selling them here in Cincinnati, the meat department Guys said no one knew what they were or what to do with them.
Just saw them today at Trader Joe's both in or out of a marinade, but it was $9/lb

@CincyTiki - same deal downriver.  And the local Trader Joe's has that same offering and price point.  BTW- I don't get the fascination with Tri-Tip.  It is a nice cut of beef but somehow I am missing the wow factor.  FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

@lousubcap I like the flavor and if I could get it at the price point they do around Santa Maria, it would be a regular, but at the price it sells for around here, it is within $1/lb of prime ribeye at Costco.
I guess like a lot of things it started out as someone figuring out how to make a good meal out of an inexpensive piece of meat, that isn't inexpensive anymore.  I gotta believe the folks that originally figured brisket out would be rolling in their graves over what a wagyu Brisket costs.
