Egg-Nology Suggestions? / Need New Temp Probe Syatem!!

Happy (early) Independence Day all...
I have a problem, and looking for some suggestions from you all on a new solution. The upside on your end is you get the opportunity to suggest how someone else spend their hard-earned money!
I have a 4 or 5 year old Maverick 2 probe remote (infrared) system. The last 3 cooks have been really frustrating... the temps are Waaaay off, thought it was the probes (swapped one), but I think it's the whole device. So now I'm pitching and replacing.
Sooo... what should I spend money on? I'm between just a standard probe style, or platform with a pit controller. I don't find the latter to be worth the investment for what I do... I might be able to be talked into it though.
I would prefer a device that's Wifi enabled, remote accessible, and / or that has some intelligence behind it (I'm an IT guy so accessibility / intelligence is pretty high on my list
)
Thanks all!

in regards to wi-fi connectivity, general ease of use and practical functionality I believe the Flameboss 300 is likely the best candidate.
I've been eyeballing them myself and believe they check all the boxes your mentioned above.

My first thought would be the Flameboss as well. If you don't think you want the controller a couple of options:
http://www.thermoworks.com/Smoke
Note that there is a Wifi bridge that is not yet available. It has a target release some time in 2017. I don't know what kind of intelligence the app/device will have. For example I don't know if it will log all of your cooks.
https://www.fireboard.com/
This unit is Wifi enabled and cloud connected. It comes with 2 meat probes with support for 6. It looks like this logs all of the data from the cooks both in the device and in the cloud, so you can look at historical data if that matters to you. Something else that is kinda cool is this runs on battery so you don't have to drag out an extension cord to use it. The FB does have an optional battery pack but the base model needs AC. I think @HeavyG has a fireboard unit.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I bought the flameboss 300 to replace my maverick since i can get temp alerts texted to my phone while i sleep soundly. I do a lot of overnight brisket and butt cooks and appreciate the peace of mind with the controller. Before i would sleep in the couch in the living room or outside and set my phone alarm for every 2 hours to check temps since im a worry wart. Now i get a full nights sleep and enjoy the next day much more. Thats just my point of view for whats it worth and if you decide to get a flameboss 3oo contact @stlcharcoal first. Great dude that will take good care of you.Franklin, Tn

If you want the login for my Flame Boss, just send me an email. You can mess around with the settings and see the interface. They're really slick. If you have a network admin / IT background, you can get the other units working, but FB is still my favorite.

I'm an IT guy and still chose the flameboss for simplicity. Enough bs to mess with at work, no need for headaches at home.Franklin, Tn
