Got my new bs 36 all seasoned up and ready to go yesterday and now I want to make some fried rice, can y'all point me in the right direction?
Separate thought, when using the griddle yesterday I couldn't help but notice all of the wasted heat escaping from the generous gap between the flattop and the burners, have any of you experimented with covering these up a bit? Or maybe shortening the flattop legs a bit?

I keep it simple, BUT PLEASE HEAR THIS!
IMO it is critical to do the rice the day before and let it sit in the fridge. If you try to out fresh steamed rice on the BS it will get mushy.
that being said I generally just add soy sauce to taste. And egg and frozen veggies -
I pretty much use this recipe - http://thewoksoflife.com/2014/10/classic-pork-fried-rice/ , using whatever I have on hand.
I Make the BBQ pork described in this thread: http://www.greeneggers.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=55&func=view&catid=1&id=1396825
Make sure to use leftover rice as @slovelad says.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

I really like this stuff for rice and other dishes.

I do a pretty basic recipe similar to what @slovelad described. I like to add onions as well with the addition of onions and a little butter.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Definitely cook and refrigerate over night. I like to use eggs, Kikkomans teriyaki marinade (brown the rice and you know you've used enough), and then add YumYum sauce (get it at Walmart) right before you take off the black stone. I also use black pepper and butter. My wife and 3 girls love it like this.
