Another Rutland Gasket Install Thanks to RRP

I finally got around to installing the Rutland Gasket that @RRP aka Ron Pratt, Dunlap, IL sent me earlier this year. No step by step pictures, but as someone who is not handy, I'm pretty pleased with how easy it was.

(My ceramics aren't usually so bright--also installed warranty firebox and fire ring.)

Ron offers a great service. One tip: if you don't have a corded drill (and I don't) factor in battery recharge time into your work plan. Getting all the gunk off from the old gasket with the paint stripper wheel took a couple of batteries.

I plan on taking the new Gasket out for a spin today.

Now now if only I could fix that spring assist gap near the back.....

What kind of adhesive did you use? Looks like a great install to me.

I used PermaTex Copper, which is what Ron and others suggest. I got mine from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-81878-Maximum-Temperature-Silicone/dp/B0002UEOPA

Thanks for the compliment - BUT Please wait 24 hours before using your egg!!! The Permatex needs that for the "chemical cure" and simple heat will NOT speed it up according to the manufacturer.

Copy that. When I light it up tonight, it will be ~30 hours from installation. Your instructions also include that tip. Looking forward to the maiden voyage.
