I upgraded mine with the same handle. @PirateBill - I had to drive mine on with a hard rubber mallet. I mean beat it on with powerful blows!

Upshot though is I took it off which was equally a task before I threw that damn skillet in the metal re-cylcing bin!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Yes, mine goes on and off easily.PirateBill said:Oh that is nice, does the silicone slip on and off?

I picked up my lodge skillet at Costco and it came with that handle. I too like it, I went to get another one, not that I needed it. Sold out...

1. Why would one throw away a fine CS skillet?RRP said:I upgraded mine with the same handle. @PirateBill - I had to drive mine on with a hard rubber mallet. I mean beat it on with powerful blows!

2. Why go through removing the handle of said skillet, if throwing it away?

after 4 long seasoning attempts of 8 to 10 coats with every one resulting in gross failures I decided carbon steel on my electric stove just wasn't going to work for me. At least now I feel good that my pan has been recycled at a local wire maker and is keeping some farmer's cows in the pasture!

For the price, Lodge CS is hard to beat.bigbadben said:I picked up my lodge skillet at Costco and it came with that handle. I too like it, I went to get another one, not that I needed it. Sold out...
I like mine, a gift from my sis, it holds a permanent spot on the cooktop.
I took it an unnecessary step further by sanding the finish, but I like the shallower, more tapered, sides. Reminds me of my favorite CI Wagner Ware Chef's skillets.BrandonQuad Cities

I saw them at Costco a little while ago thought the new slip on silicone grip would work great, right now I have silicone gloves and they work ok but they seem to get a little hot if I get the skillet above 300f. pair my gloves with the new grip and I would be set.
