Who?  Pierce Brosnan is James Bond! I do want to go back and watch the "old" ones.

They started getting goofy by the time Moonraker came out.....almost like a parody of Bond.  Him in a clown suit in Octopussy was a bad move.  Overall, pretty good run though.  Sean Connery would be a hard act to follow by any account--especially when everyone pretended like the George Laserby one never happened.  Brosnan was good in the first few, until they got the last ones with all the CGI.

PSA:  There are a couple Roger Moore ones on Amazon Prime right now.  Unfortunately, For Your Eyes Only dropped off about a week ago when I was halfway through it!!!!!  I'm usually up until midnight answering emails and such--usually have something on in the background.

RIP. I'll drink one to him tonight after work. My dad was always watching 007 when I was little. Seemed to always be one on before or after Atlanta Braves games on TBS. Kinda got me hooked on it. I didn't even know Sean Connery was 007 until I got into college. Roger Moore was the man. I rank him as the third best Bond, behind Connery and Daniel Craig, with Timothy Dalton a distant 4th.

being a kid in the 70s and learning about james bond at the time, i knew of no other bond...george and sean did great but to me, seeing anyone but Sir ROger Moore playing the role seemed awkward to me.

The guy had class, and set the stage for serious action movies to have a lighter side for actors like Ahnald in terminator, raw deal, etc.

I really appreciate this man's contribution to the world and to entertainment

Geesh.  Growing old is not for the weak.

He was a fine guy, tho' I will respectfully disagree about the Bond roles. Don't think the presentation was his idea, just what the director's wanted from him.

Heard an interview w. him maybe a year ago. He was talking about himself, and his actor buddies. Had good stories, like drinking stories where his pal Richard Burton would go on for hours, and eventually be unable to stand up from his bar stool. Overall, Mr. Moore came off as a fine, sympathetic, and intelligent gent.
