Smokeware SS Chimney Cap

Just picked up the SS Chimney Cap for my Medium BGE and had a question for fellow users.  The Cap came with a felt gasket.  Obviously I have the gasket attached to the top of the dome that came with the egg.  Did you replace your gaskets with the new one provided by Smokeware? I believe I need to as it seems the base of the Cap slides when I adjust the vent on the Cap meaning I'd have to hold the base to adjust during use (not something I'd want and would lead to some burned fingers when I adjust and forget to do so with a glove).  Thanks in advance for the responses.
