I've done several tri-tips but none looked like this one. I think the butcher I had been getting them from was cheating me. Reverse Seared on the large. While that was going on roasted fingerling potatoes on the small and once those were done roasted some romaine hearts for grilled ceasar salads.

Nice cook. I still haven't done a tri-tip. Do you have to slice against the grain?

@CTMike: Thanks brother. Don't know anything about tri-tip. Just looked like the type of cut that would benefit from slicing against the grain. Will have to give it a go.

That looks fantastic. Thanks for the reminder to get grilled romaine back in the rotation.Stillwater, MN

Thanks for the video @CTMike I knew about cutting across the grain but wasn't aware that cutting on the bias makes for a more tender slice of meat.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

Everything looks great. I haven't grilled romaine before. It looks awesome. I can only imagine how good it tastes. Do you just put it on a hot fire to char it? Just for a minute or two?=======================================

You can also just apply some Italian dressing before grilling. We like it with blue cheese added after removing from grill.Stillwater, MN
