Thermapen Battery Life

Just changed my batteries for the second time. My guess is I've had it about 18 months?

Seems too soon since I don't use it very often.

Any other experiences?

Had mine about 6+ years I think. Haven't changed 'em yet.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I recently had to change my first one.  Been about 2 years.  Now I have to already do it again after a month.

Interesting - as my oldest Thermapen is now 17 years and it is still using the original battery and I use it frequently! It was before the back light option which may well drain a battery more quickly. I wonder if yours has a defective switch. I'd contact Thermapen and ask!

I'm rolling thru 6+ years and original battery.  Mine is the simple no back-light version and SWMBO does not mess with it.  (She has a thermopop which meets her needs and would meet mine as well but not on the market when I bought the 'pen.)

My oldest Thermapen uses those oddball little 12v batteries. After 8 years or so it was still working but I was concerned that it might start to leak so I went ahead and changed it.

I've used mine about 18 months and I've changed the batteries once. It is the backlight model so I'm guessing it burns them more quickly.
