Stump Chunks

Has anyone used these to light the egg? http://stumpchunks.com.  I just ran across these and seem to be a good option.

Seems like overkill to me, but then I don't use a weed burner or any of the other really fun products to light with, either. Lots of easy and inexpensive options out there. Not sure what, if any, advantages the stump chunks provide.

Stump Chunks are for Chumps!!!   This video was about as exciting as the Three Cheese Blend!

We stock them in our store.  They're great for camp fires and if you like to use kindling to start fires vs. starter sticks.  I've met these guys at HBP-Expo a few times and the BGE dealer's meeting, and they're great folks.  Not really better or worse than any of the other ways us BGE guys use to light, but it's quick and easy to grab a handful of the chunks and drop a match in them.  The guy in the video, Sylvain, is absolutely hilarious.  Good company, good product.

No, it's not wood dipped in wax, oil, etc, it's ground up tree stumps.  The stump has a tons of BTUs and normally they just get buried or burned because there's not really a market for them.  These guys chip them up and bag them for fire starter.  Just like DOMESTIC lump charcoal, it's from wood that would be otherwise discarded.

Fatwood (or real fatwood anyways, I'm sure companies do fake it) is not dipped in anything, it's naturally high in resin which allows it to start and burn hot and fast, generally found in old stumps.
