After a few texts to @caliking I made this tonight. I'm sure its disgraceful to use jar sauce. But yall know me I did it anyway. Added onions and a can of diced tomatoes. Anded some curry and spices. Turned out better than I hoped.

A weekly staple. I combine a couple different recipes. Love it.

Nice plate, dude. Sorry I couldn't be of more help since I was at a dinner thing.
But yes its disgraceful!!
Those jarred sauces use thickeners and other weird **** that taste funky IMO. Chicken tikka masala is basically grilled tandoori chicken in a tomato and cream based sauce. From what you added, you weren't too far from making the sauce yourself.
Here's a pretty legit recipe. Give it a whirl. You'll love the difference it will make. And don't worry about every single ingredient (like fenugreek leaves) - it'll still turn out good even with some omissions.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

@caliking: I have a question about your recipe referral. It says to put the chicken skewers "on a lined baking sheet as close to the grill as possible and grill for 6 to 8 minutes on each side...". Why does it need a baking sheet under it? Can't you just grill it a distance away from the coals as usual?
Thanks for that great link--it's always fun to convert from metric. Google is my friend.Judy in San Diego -
Don't worry about that part. Grill the chicken the way you usually would. Undercook it just a bit, so that it hits the right temp and texture when it gets mixed into the sauce.Judy Mayberry said:@caliking: I have a question about your recipe referral. I was mainly looking at the ingredients and completely missed that part
