1 week into my first BGE Experience!

Just wanted to say hello. Picked up a large BGE last week. Already tackled some chicken, burgers, pizza, smoked salmon and then smoked veggies for soup. Thinking I might do some ribs today! Super excited about this. And many thanks for this forum/community. Great resource.

P.S. I might be burning through lump faster than I thought. Might need to find one of these deals I hear about and stockpile!!!

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey.  Above all, have fun.
Regarding lump-that subject attracts more lightening than politics or religion around here.
At the risk of starting a weekend lump fight, for your info BGE lump is private branded Royal Oak which can usually be had at big box stores for much less.  And if you want to try other brands, Rockwood is a great smoke neutral lump.  You can find it and a couple of others here:
https://www.firecraft.com/category/hardwood-charcoal  BTW-free shipping when >$99 so order in 6 bag increments as it ships very well in 3 bags to the box.  FWIW-

Seems that you've done the right thing and jumped in with the cooking. Once you start, there's no turning back.

I haven't been taking pics. Except for the pizza. Though it wasn't the best looking pie (my 9yr old did the toppings for us), it was the best looking pie I've ever made. And it was tasty. Now I just need to figure how to make a killer sourdough crust.

Make sure to use a neutral rockwood type lump for your veggies and agree with all above

Also, what is that table/island top in the background?  It looks cool.

Boos Block Island. I've had it for about 6 years. Bulletproof. Just needs oil here and there. BTW. Its now about double the $$ from when I purchased it?

Nice! Love the dark wood too.  That would solve my problem.  My wife keeps requesting I put my cutting blocks away.

We use it daily. I'd build my next kitchen around this sucker if I was planning to do so.
