Hampton Roads Va Eggers...

Question for my fellow Hampton roads folks... I'm relatively new to the area.. and I'm hoping some more tenured locals can share some good info on butchers/local stores to buy meat from.

Specifically Brisket... I have purchased from a butcher in Carrollton with good prices.. but they only carry Choice.. the only prime Brisket I have found has been extremely pricey.. any good tips on where to look for Brisket or pork butt/ribs etc would be nice too... I scored some Boston butts 99cents per lb at Harris Teeter last week.

My fave is Central Packing on Kempsville Rd. They got it all! Like all butcher shops in Tidewater a bit pricey, but give them a look. Only place I've found with tri-tips.

Our local Costco's just started carrying prime packers at $2.99/lb  both myself (Newport news) and @vb_egger (southside) recently got one.

also, im not a huge fan of central meats.  way over priced, IMO.

Just re-read your comments @berndcrisp ....Trader Joe's carries Tri-tips also.  For a while, they were all pre-seasoned, but recently I've found them plain, unseasoned.

I've been looking for a place that sells tomahawk ribeyes but haven't had much luck. The Whole Foods in Newport News has small organic grass fed ones, but I want a big one. Any suggestions on where to find one?

For the best meat in Hampton Roads try Pendulum Meats in Norfolk. You will not be sorry.
