Filets

Enjoyed a low-key Easter with the family but Saturday night the in-laws came over for dinner. They do not eat a lot of red meat but like when I cook them steak. Local grocery store had filets on special so got the egg to 550 and threw a little mesquite wood in before the steaks went on.
Turned out great with a kiss of smoke flavor!

I got a whole beef tenderloin for $10.99/lb at a NE chain called Giant. Fresh Market was on sale for $12.99/lb for whole loin or $18.99/lb cut/partial. Whole Foods was $29.99/lb whole or partial loin.
