OT - Another Boos Butcher Block for sale

My neighbor has an old time Boos Butcher Block that she would like to sell.  It's a single family owned block ... the original shipping tag is still stapled to the bottom of the block. The numbers on the bottom are 7380 ... Boos said it was manufactured in July of 1938.  It was shipped to a grocery store in Mt Vernon, Illinois, where it stayed until the store was closed in 1965.  At that time the youngest son claimed it and has had in his possession since then.  It's been collecting dust for the last decade and needs to find a new home.

Here are a few pictures:

The top two covering caps were removed to check the bolt tightness ... they're available.

It's obviously hard rock maple. Measures 30" x 35" x 14" and stands 32" tall.  It's located in mid-Illinois and she is asking $500 for it.

Couldn't find a Boos butcher block with those dimensions, so plotted MSRP versus top surface area.  Turns out to be a linear relationship.  MSRP = $231 + (surface area in sq inches * $1.53) ... thus MSRP for this block should be about $1838.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

14" thick? Any idea on weight, looking to see what shipping would cost.

@CTMike ... On the spec sheets, maple varies between 39~47lbs/cubic foot. Thus, the bare block should weight 330 to 400 lbs.  With the legs and a shipping pallet, I'd guess 400 to 450 lbs shipping weight.

I just had a 200 lb cast iron farmhouse sink shipped from NY to MI. It was about 260 bucks to ship.  I used uship.Com

With pallet, wood box, and packing material,  it was around 300lbs. I selected R&L carriers.

If I called R&L carriers direct, it would have been over 600 bucks to ship.
