Québec city or the province in general?

  • Province. Actually hitting up Montreal for a show on a Friday and the rest of the weekend is a clean slate.

For a lunch, I recommend Schwartz.  It is the original Montréal Smoked Meat.  It is a cafeteria kind of setting.  Be ready for a lineup and possibly sit with strangers.  When asked for fat or lean, don't hesitate and go for the fat.  Grab a few bottles of beef seasoning before leaving.  If you don't want to wait too long, you can go next door at their deli take out.

For diner, Joe Beef is a must go but there are so many other choices... http://www.joebeef.ca/

If you are ready to pay the price and want to bring back some good dry aged beef, le Marchand du Bourg is the place.  http://www.marchanddubourg.com/

For some sharp, beautiful and expensive Japanese knives, this is the place:  http://www.lemouleur.com/
