Ah, ticks. My former boss's next-door neighbor in Idaho contracted Lyme disease, he eventually committed suicide (the neighbor).
I used to do a lot of photography in northern Minnesota, and was careful to shake off my coat, comb my hair, and do a thorough skin/clothing check before climbing back in the truck; some places I'd have 5 or 6 of the shits crawling around on me.
I only missed one. You know that 2 square inches of skin in the middle of your back that you can't reach from any angle? That's where the damn thing burrowed in. I saw him after a shower in the mirror, and debated whether to go to the Emergency Room just to remove a damn tick. Eventually was able to grab him with a long-nose pliers; ugh!___________"When small men begin to cast big shadows, it means that the sun is about to set."

Ticks and fleas are something to watch out around here either.
