How can I cut the cord while maintaining DVR recordings from broadcast tv? I use Amazon prime for Showtime and Starz (half price from Fios) through my Xbox one.  Live TV could easily be set up through an antenna.... but what about my favorite channels off FIOS such as Food Network, Discovery, Travel Channel, Nat Geo etc?

PS Vue is the only one with DVR at the moment, but am sure the rest are coming.

My experience has been the opposite - through the Vue App on my Android phone, I've yet to be able to play anything outside the house.
However, as long as there is a separate app for the channel, like ESPN, I can log in through that app and usually get access to the content regardless of location.
I used Sling for a couple of months, but we found it a bit lacking, Vue has been a better compromise between supported channels and also being able to stream up to 5 streams vs 1 for Sling.
Weird. I wonder if it's a location thing. It's worked on our iphones but I doubt that's the issue. I've ran it on school wifi and via 4G LTE with Verizon. I get the pop-up that somethings may not be available but I've never had an issue beyond CSN, which doesn't even work on mobile at home(which sucks if I want to watch the end of the game in bed).

    I have a Tivo Roamio.

It is awesome for antenna recording.

The only thing about ps vue is I don't like their roku interface. It's nice on the ps4 thou. YouTube just came out with a service with unlimited dvr also.

I love my Roku 3, however as a general rule the apps are not as nice as the ps4 or Apple tv

Lots of options. I've had OTA (Over The Air, aka broadcast) TV recording for 3 years now with no cable. No complaints.

    I use Tablo.  https://www.tablotv.com/
You can get TiVo Roamio OTA.  https://www.tivo.com/shop/ota-detail
You can get Channelmaster . http://www.channelmaster.com/Antenna_DVR_s/336.htm
HD Home Run (I think there's a new one now?) https://www.silicondust.com/products/software/
    Or a PC setup.

Probably others I can't think of at the moment. Each setup has it's pros and cons.

PS Vue with Roku Streaming Sticks on our HDTVs.  My wife and I did a lot of research and PS Vue was the best value for the programming we watch the most.  As some have mentioned, the DVR "On Demand" feature is really nice.  When I saw PlayStation, I was a bit skeptical but Sony did well on this.
