We're following the kids out to Arizona later this spring and the new house doesn't have a place for my butcher block.  We bought it in 1974 from a small town grocery store ... government said no cutting on wood anymore.  It was quite a number of years old at that time.  Hardrock maple top 30" X 30" X 16" and stands 34" tall.  Double dovetail construction. Here is where it came from and what today's version looks like:http://www.butcherblock.com/product/monarch-12-end-grain-chopping-block/#product_images

Dang. I wish I had seen this earlier.
    Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

The butcher block on its way to its new home.  The look on the buyer's face suggests; "hmmm ... is this really going to fit in my SUV?"

That ride clear back to Sterling with that macho trailer in tow must have been a treat! More bounce to the ounce I assume! =)

That was Toms lawn trailer. That was just the ride from his basement up to the driveway. The hard work was lying ahead when this photo was taken. Loaded it in the SUV from there. Ugh!

Ok Pete, now I understand! BTW will that be for home use or at your store?

If someone comes along and carries this off, you don't want to mess with them. Bad hombre for sure.

Just today I got the behemoth out of the back of the murano. I have a lift cart at the shop I should have taken to Toms house. Made it a breeze. Slid the block out of the back onto the lifted cart table and lowered it down onto the legs. The cart fit between the legs with a few inches to spare. Better lucky

I haven't put a bunch of thought into it yet, but it's such a charming piece how could I miss? You can use it to prep for a demo anytime you wish. Told your dad if you want it back you have to haul it, no delivery!!!! Lol

I had to help move it around the basement.  That thing is a beast.
