SRF Spare Ribs

First time cooking anything SRF. Bought these back when they had their rib sale. Did a 1/4 of the rack with just salt and pepper to get a good taste of the meat. Did the rest with my trusty Central BBQ rub from Memphis. On at 275 and prolly not going to wrap. Put on the grill a little later than I had hope. Goods eats coming up later.

Will be interested in your comments as I have not moved off the brisket and steak purchases from SRF.  I have been extremely pleased with those and keep going back.

Looking good! I've got spares starting via an 18 hour swim sous vide tonight for tomorrow. I see these were SRF. What's been your experience with racks from Alwan Bros Meat Market? I have $250 in gift certificates from there and it's burning a hole in my pocket now that we defrosted the freezer this week.

Their ribs are good.  I like their beef products better but can't really go wrong with anything there. They have the best chicken wings. I also buy my smoking wood chunks from there.

I agree on their chicken.  Cheap and good, their beef is decent, and their sauce and rub selection is pretty good.

Just don't go on the first of the month.  It is chaos.

Those ribs are good. Not much meat on them though.

Mine had real nice heritage flavor, but skimpy as well. I like the Berkshire from Iowa a bit better. I'm spoiled with the local loin back ribs we get at Kroger of all places. Huge! Not the buttery heritage flavor though. Patiently awaiting the results.

Vertic is in. Very good. As everyone as stated they are a bit skimppy. Would I buy them again, yes if I can get them at their sale price again. Full retail price is a bit steep for the amount of meat.

Not sure if it means much, but I have never got pull back like that when not wrapping my ribs and these went naked the whole time.

I'm sure they are or at least had better be. Even with flat shipping and tax that's $9.13 a pound.

Those look great! Mine weren't nearly that meaty. Mine pulled back a lot too. Must be the interspersed fat.

Another note, I was surprised how quickly they cooked. Right at 4 hours. Held temps 250-275

Closing the loop-thanks for the review.  Given my penchant for beef I may stay in the SRF beef aisle for now.
    Great looking ribs right there.
