OT: Mission BBQ

I think like most of you I rarely get too fired up about a BBQ restaurant, especially a chain, because we usually (rightfully) think we can do just as well if not better at home. However, today I took my folks out to lunch (they live in Canton, Ohio), and we went to Mission BBQ. I don't know what they do to their baby back ribs, but man, were they strong. Tender but not fall of the bone, and most impressively, the crust/bark was amazing.

Anyone have any reviews? Did I just catch them on an exceptionally good day?

that location dose a great job with their food.  My wife an I have eaten at that location 2 time, I do not think it's a fluke. They actually pay attention to detail.  I asked the guys in the back pulling food out how long it takes to cook and they've said until it's done.

Are you located near canton as well.  My wife and I live between Massillon and Navarre in a little area called Richville.

I think it is solid.  They've catered a couple of work events I've been to, and we had one open about 10 minutes from home.  I still prefer my own, but it is definitely pretty good and a good option for a quick lunch when running errands or to grab as take out for dinner.

great chain bbq.  plus you've got to love their focus on supporting military/police/fire.  plan to eat at 12 and you'll see the entire restaraunt stop and sing the national anthem.  pretty impressive.

  • I've ate at the one in Nashville a couple of times while my wife was at the mall shopping. Gotta say, its pretty good for chain bbq. Not terribly priced either. Not crazy about the brisket, but the pulled pork and chicken have both been good.

I definitely prefer them over Famous Dave's.   I did catch them on an off day on their PP.  overcooked and almost mushy...  Got a next-meal-free thing for it. But, overall, normally they are very good.
