A buddy called me yesterday and said it was time for a guys night. So I rounded up the usual suspects, picked up a bunch of meat, and attempted my first reverse sear. All came out perfectly med rare. We don't eat a lot of steaks but that is how I am making them from here on out. I only got the grill to 575, wasn't enough charcoal to really get it kicked up to make great sear marks but lessons learned.
And just to not piss off one of the "vegan" spouses we had some vegetables
and after cigars, a fire, some dice, and way too many drinks the wives started texting to police up there husbands.
Morale of the story. Don't leave your phone out if you don't want me to say smart ass things to your wife at 1am. Also don't drink 4 Roses.

Vegetables are way over rated ( by the way I just had to use autocorrect to spell vegetables, now twice). I learned something last week. If coals are low when you go to sear take the grate off and go strait on the red hot coals, " caveman style " with your buddies you will achieve immortality status!! Especially with a whiskey in one hand. Looks like a great time, I still catch flack from my buddies wives ( the ones that are still around ) about a bachelor party I thru 25 years ago. It was Epic!!

Looks like a fun time! Steaks looked good too.

@Hntnhrd I thought about it but I had too many moving parts when it was time.

@RRP I wasn't looking for playing points this morning. I'm just glad the eggs were cooked

Great post. Can totally relate

Hangover medicine looks good. May just have to
make one like that now. Yeah when I tried the caveman sear I wanted to take pictures but was worried to
much screwing around and I would ruin them -
Looks like fun. Guess my invite must have gotten lost in the mail.

Way to enjoy the unsupervised time-reads like a great night. (Great looking beef.)
Now the pay-back time. BTW-whenever I fire up the BGE adult supervisory beverages are involved.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
Nice! Sounds like a fun time.
But that hangover pill isn't going to work . Not without gravy and moar cheeez#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
The grub looks great. This is a picture I am all too familiar with. I'm usually the one getting my picture taken.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
@caliking there was absolutely no way I was committed to making gravy this morning. But the eggs have cheese in them too so I think I'm covered. I really just need to kill about 45 more minutes so I can get back home and have a beer.
@SmokeyPitt the key to not getting your picture taken is good drinking genes. I'm Scottish and Native American so my SSN should have come with a ABV label."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

@GrateEggspectations if you're ever in the area feel free to come on by. We always make too much!
My neighbor (who's son in law was over last night) stopped me in the yard this morning and asked why boys vocabulary gets so small when we get together. She said she stepped outside to let the dog out and heard at least 30 F bombs in like 3 minutes.

Bravo Sir! Bravo indeed!
Apply the veg to your forehead today. Cheers! -
Nicely done! Everything looks great.
I've done the same thing to my friends phones if they've passed out early. One time I sent a text to 10-12 people on my friends phone saying that he was on the way to the hospital to see the birth of his son. (He has no girlfriend or kids to speak of). Let's just he had a few random calls and texts the next day with some explaining to do."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan
