Quite gimmicky IMO. What do LARGE pieces of lump do that smaller pieces won't? I routinely get monster pieces of lump in my bags of Rockwood, and always have to break them up. The only cooker I have that would do well with really big pieces of lump is my tandoor, and I don't fire it up much these days.

Lazzari   sells a "tandoori grade" lump, which I had looked in to several years ago, but didn't buy because shipping was exorbitant.

But i'm sure KJ will make a killing with that product, since plenty of folks will think that big pieces of lump are the bee's knees.

I like a nice mix of medium pies on down. I too have a welding hammer that i use to break up the uuuge pieces. You get a lot of air gaps in the firebox otherwise and really don't have as much lump in the box. But, to each their own. Not a big deal as made out to be IMO.

I like having a couple big chunks for low-and-slows.  My latest bag of Rockwood was weird, more big chunks than I've ever had before (by about 2x probably), but then lots of really small pieces and very few medium sized chunks.
