new to the digiQ guru

Hi All.

Just bought a DigiQ guru and setting up to bbq a pork shoulder. I am using a V-rack. do i still put the temp probe on the grate or do i clip the temp probe to the side of the V-rack?

    You don't need the v rack.  You just want the probe on the grate indirect from the fire.  Not too close to the meat.

    Agree, no v-rack and keep the probe away from the meat and indirect...  I think you will find after several hours the dome temp and grate temp will be near the same, but not at first...  I set my pit temp for 235 when using grate temp.  I might bump it up to 250 or more when it clears the "stall".

    I always clip to the dome thermo stick. Have for 10 years, will for another....... well, as long as the good lord allows.
