Question about clean burn

Hey gang, trying to do my first successful clean burn this week, and the last time I attempted, my egg ended up getting a crack in the base (assuming the 2 were unrelated, but I digress).

What's the best method to clean it out?

I just get it to 600 or more and let it but out . I don't typically go over 700. Never had an issue.

have had bases crack at 325 and others not crack at 1200 degrees. seems there is no rhyme or reason

going nuclear is not necessary.  Go to ~600-700F and hold it for an hour.  you'll be fine
