Rechargeable AA batteries

We just picked up some window candles that take 4AA batteries (have 20 candles). I'm looking for any rechargeable battery knowledge and or recommendations that you guys may have. I do have some older energizers and an older charger. Also interested in a newer "smart charger".

The Maha Powerex batteries always work well and they have a very good charger (Powerex C9000) with a lot of great features like cycles and discharge followed by charging, etc.  It has been able to "fix" some older batteries that would no longer take a charge.

Eneloop!   Make sure to get a smart charger such as Maha, newer eneloop, or Lacrosse.  Batteries will last longer.

+1 on Eneloop, hold their charge really well.

The two batteries that have been recommended here are what I was down to. But I was trying to figure out it the eneloop vs eneloop pro was with the difference. Along with the Amazon basic vs higher mAh. They will just be going into a 2 bulb LED candle that takes 4 cells. 

The charger above mana powerex was also where so where I was looking along with his big brother that is almost twice the price.

Higher mAh just means the battery will run a little longer between charges. Can't tell you offhand how much more runtime that would actually mean for each candle. The higher mAh batteries may not really be worth the extra money. Word is the Amazon Basics are actually relabeled Eneloops.

I'd buy enough batteries so that you can have spares already charged so you can swap them out and not have to wait for the dead batteries to recharge.

Like mentioned, the higher the mAh, the longer the battery will supply power.

I run rechargeables in all my remotes and in the wireless mouse for the PC. I have bought a few brands and have had great experience with the Amazon Basics. I don't think they had the silver ones with the high output when I bought. I have had the black ones with the green line on them and they've lasted a few years so far. Good price and great battery. Don't think you need this many, just posted for reference.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think I might buy a few eneloops and some amazon basics and do a test run with them. Since I need 80 batteries I don't want to fully commit to one brand without trying them out. I am definitely going to buy one of the smart style chargers.

I've been using eneloop for years and have the Pro versions also. I thought the main befits of the pro is they hold a charge longer when in storage, not sure though. So if they are going to be used and recharged frequently you would be better off going regular (cheaper). If they are going to be sitting idle most of the time, like in a flashlight that hardly gets used the Pro may be better for you.

Either way they are worth the investment and you won't notice a difference in performance over alkaline.
