I tried a local butcher and ordered 2 pounds of Pork Tenderloin last night and this is what I picked up this morning.
Is this a partial Loin Roast? What is this? I'm used to getting two thin strips from the grocery store.
I was was thinking about brining and going raised direct. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

sounds like someone cut up a loin roast, which as you said is totally different than a tenderloin.
question: wouldn't you have asked for a pork tenderloins, rather than specifying two pounds? seems they run 2 pounds or so usually. or did you really want them to trim a tenderloin to exactly 2 pounds?
i'm betting they assumed you didn't know you really meant tenderloin (because most people seem to confuse loin and tenderloin in their speech), and so probably gave you loins since you were specific about "two pounds". ..like they second guessed you.

boneless pork chop is loin. they also shorted you a quarter pound from what you asked for

Yep :(. Thanks.

can still go raised direct, brined too.
i might tend to roast it myself, but raised direct over not too much heat could be great actually. nice exterior.
can also roulade it. still a good cook.

It's pork.
Seriously, I cure the loins and smoke for some awesome back bacon. But in this case I'd brine and smoke direct with apple as you said (I added the apple...).
I would also find a new supplier that knew what you were asking for.Mt Elgin Ontario - just a Large.
