Cracked firebox

Went to get the fire ready for Mr. Butt only to find the firebox in my large BGE cracked in half. I've only read about this happening once or twice before, is it common?[p]Since I've only owned this since Memorial Day do you take it back to the dealer or get the replacement directly from BGE Atlanta?[p]Not to worry, Mr. Butt is now heating up in BGE #2...I knew there was a good reason to buy another one:))[p]TR

AbqEgg'r, My guess is that at least 50% of em crack. The reason IMHO is thermal shock from the inrush of cold air thru the ash vent. The remedy is to either repair it yourself for $2.98 in cement, or have BGE ship you a new one under warranty for free, less freight.
I would wait till it cracks into six's...:-)
