Edited because my iPad went haywire and posted before it had any content haha.

Non egg cook.
Seems like everyone has a breakfast casserole they make during the holidays. This one is really good, never tried it on the egg but I hope to soon.

It's called breakfast bread pudding! Anyone have a favorite breakfast casserole they cook on the egg?? Would love to hear some ideas.

I have had this casserole every christmas morning since I was born. Wish I would have taken pics, but here is recipe:

    Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of herbed croutons
2 cups of mild cheddar cheese
2 pkg Little Sizzlers ( cut into 1/4's)
    4 eggs
    2 1/2 cups of milk
    3/4 tsp of dry mustard
    1 can cream of mushroom
    1/4 cup of milk

    Directions:
    1. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.
    2. Brown and drain the sausage.
    3. Layer croutons on the bottom of the pan.
    4. Add a layer of cheese
    5. Layer the sausage next
    6. In a bowl, mix eggs, 2 1/2 cups of milk and mustard
    7. Pour the egg mixture over top of layers.
    8. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

    The following morning:
    9. Preheat oven to 350.
    10. Mix soup and 1/4 cup of milk.
    11. Pour soup mixture over top of casserole.

    12. Bake uncovered for 1 hour.

    13. Let set a few minutes prior to serving.

    Breakfast Bread Pudding:
1 lb jimmy dean maple sausage
    1/2 cup minced yellow onion
    1/3 cup dry white wine
8 cups 1 day old French bread torn into 1 inch pieces
    2 1/2 cups milk
    1/2 cup heavy cream
    1/4 cup melted butter
    8 eggs beaten
    1/2 pound Monterey Jack
    1/2 pound mild cheddar
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper

I usually use 1/2 pound (8ounces) Colby Jack instead of Monterey Jack since it's not spicy and maybe a cup of cheddar

    Directions:
Cook the sausage then add in the onion and cook until soft, then add white wine and cook about 2-3 minutes
In a large bowl add in the bread and milk and cream and stir well, let it sit for 5 minutes. pour the melted butter in 10x13 casserole dish, mix all ingredients in with the bread mixture and mix together, pour into casserole dish cover with tin foil and cook 1 hour @ 325 then cook uncovered for 15, Increase the temp to 375 and cook for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
