Is the blower suppose to be on when the switch is on heat?

No, switch down, put tip of eggniter on lump, hold it there for a minute or so ... then switch up to fan the lump. Simple.I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.
